OUR STORY
(Excerpts taken from our featured article in The Voyage Dallas)
Our company is a small, family-owned business. Kurt Walker, the owner, is a former chief in the U.S Navy Submarine Force, and has been in the roofing industry on both residential and commercial sides for several decades. We are a full-service contractor, and can handle any item that may appear on a storm claim (roof, gutters, screens, paint, siding, etc.). We are members of the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association, as well as certified through multiple shingle manufacturers (including GAF). We are also A+ Rated with the Better Business Bureau. We work closely with all major insurance carriers, including Farmers, State Farm, Allstate, and Liberty Mutual.
We strongly believe in integrity, quality, and hard work. We do our absolute best to ensure each and every customer is satisfied with their finished construction project. We have completed many beautiful roofing & construction projects over the years in the area, and have spent countless hours educating homeowners about all their available options, and the challenges our chaotic weather can cause us.
We make it our highest priority to give back to the communities in which we do business, via multiple non-profit initiatives that our company spearheads throughout the year. In 2017, we rolled out the “Roofing Relief Project”. Through this initiative, we install complete roofing systems for free, to families in need within the Dallas-Fort Worth area multiple times each year.
K&L Roofing also became part of the Cajun Navy and Cajun Army this year as part of our disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey. Our employees have spent a total of five months aiding in the rescue and cleanup efforts in the Houston area. Our employees also participated in the Michael’s Design-a-Gown contest benefiting the Children’s Hospital!
Has it been a smooth road? In the roofing industry, finding talented and motivated individuals to join our sales force is an ongoing project. Our goal is always to stand out from other roofing companies when it comes to consistent and thorough training, and setting new employees up for success! With seasonal storms, we find that many salespeople are afraid to transition over from a traditional sales position. We want to keep our staff long after the storm season is over, and we coach all new employees on how to move into roofing and stay for the long haul.
